Upon completion, you will understand the Camstar Manufacturing .NET XML Client API and how to use it to create custom Camstar Manufacturing applications.

Introduction to Camstar SPC – 3 days

Objective To assist customers with installing Camstar SPC components, understanding the Camstar SPC solution, creating SPC instance data and displaying SPC charts.

Prerequisite training: Exploring Camstar Manufacturing, Object Design, and Web Forms Builder. Statit education is recommended.

Prerequisite:

  • Camstar Modeler (knowledge of Object Oriented concepts)
  • Camstar Web Developer (familiarity with WFB and MS Visual Studio)
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control concepts
  • Knowledge of company’s current/future data collection and SPC Charting requirements

Intended Audience: IT Staff and system administrators (first 4 hours of training);

  • Installation and configuration of the Camstar SPC and Statit product (The installation will be on the customer specified machine based on Camstar recommendations).

Intended Audience: Engineers and QA personnel (optimal class size is 5 or less)

A specific training model is provided to teach the following topics:

  • Definition of parametric data to be collected
  • Modeling of defined parametric data in Camstar Manufacturing
  • Definition of SPC chart using collected data
  • Development of user interfaces to collect parametric data
  • Development of user interfaces to display SPC charts
  • Definition of business logic to handle SPC violation exceptions
  • Definition and development of custom Statit Software SPC rules
  • Definition and development of Statit Software Chart-generating Macros
  • Configuration of an e-mail notification for SPC chart violations
  • Modeling of Camstar SPC chart that use collected data, chart display options and SPC violation handling

With any time remaining, a specific customer production line’s SPC requirement can be studied as a class scenario and implemented on the customer’s test environment as an example.

Introduction to Camstar Open Adapter – 3 days

Audience: Core members of an implementation team involved with implementing the interfaces component of a system.

    • Discussion of Data Transports
    • Configuration of the Transport by File
    • Processing of an Inbound XML document to do a Maintenance transaction
  • Installation and configuration of XML Connect
    • Explanation of XML Connect functionality
    • Configuration of XML Connect
    • Processing of Camstar Manufacturing Move transaction to trigger an outbound XML document
  • Installation and configuration of Camstar Open Adapter Outbound
    • Discussion of architecture/XML Connect extension for IOA Outbound
    • Discussion of Data Transports
    • Configuration of Camstar Manufacturing Open Adapter Transport by File
    • Processing of Move transaction to a File Share using IOA Outbound.

Class is conducted as instructor lead presentation and discussion. Hands-on class materials use the Camstar Manufacturing Open Adapter Inbound and Outbound reference guide, XML Connect reference guide, and the case studies from those guides.

Standard Validation Package (SVP) Training 1 day

Audience: Core members of the project team involved with validation efforts related to the system implementation.

Prerequisites: Exploring Camstar Manufacturing and Exploring Medical Device Suite or relevant Feature Sets are required training for individuals tasked with writing and executing test protocols.

Description

The Camstar Standard Validation Package is composed of a documentation set (Validation Plan template, Functional Requirements Specification, IQs, OQs, Trace Matrices, and Validation Summary report template) intended to help accelerate the process of Computer Systems Validation (CSV). Regulated manufacturers have various approaches to CSV; therefore, the Camstar SVP is intended to provide a core set of documents that address the validation protocols for the out-of-the-box functionality.

Execution

Camstar SVP includes a one day training session aimed toward preparing customers, who are implementing Camstar Manufacturing , with the tasks associated in Computer Systems Validation.

Topics covered:

  • Computerized System Validation
  • Software Development Lifecycle
  • Protocol Generation and Execution
  • Deviations and Issues
  • Good Documentation Practices
  • Camstar’s Standard Validation Package
  • Document Walkthrough
  • What needs to be done?
  • SOPs Required
  • Camstar Validation Services

Assumptions

Customers shall have primary responsibility for computer systems validations leveraging the Camstar Standard Validation Package as a starting point for the validation documentation.

Recommendation

Additional consulting assistance with an MES/SVP subject matter expert is recommended as part of a consulting services statement of work, to provide validation guidance.

Operational Reporting with Camstar Manufacturing

Audience: Core members of an implementation team involved with implementing the reporting component of a system.

Prerequisite: Exploring Camstar Manufacturing, Object Design course, and knowledge of your reporting requirements. Business Objects education is recommended.
