Kodak: Leveraging Live Information for OLED Production Flow
Kodak Research Laboratories, a division of Eastman Kodak, prototypes devices
and manufacturing processes to be used in the commercial production of low-cost
flat-panel displays incorporating newly-emerging OLED technologies. At Kodak, InSite
is used to track product and work-in-process inventory through each step of the
OLED production flow as it happens, providing Kodak decision-makers with an instantaneous
view of production.
Optimizing Product Yields by Tracking Product Movement
"Our process steps are equipment-based," says Bob Price, Systems Information Manager
at Kodak, "so we know what piece of equipment the lot went through, and we collect
data against that equipment along with all the relevant test data. This allows us
to input personal observations related directly to a particular lot."
Using InSite, Kodak plant engineers can fine-tune process efficiency and optimize
overall product yields as new manufacturing methodologies for OLED manufacturing
are designed, prototyped and tested.
InSite traces the physical movement and cycle time of each process step, tracking
product movement by lot.
Production Data and Revision Tracking Provide Flexibility
In an environment that requires flexibility and instant traceability, InSite is
an ideal solution. InSite captures live production and quality data, based on either
product-centric or resource-centric views.
In addition, InSite concurrently manages multiple changes or revisions in the manufacturing
process that include revision management for products, routings specifications,
instructions and data collection.
