New Version of Manufacturing Execution System Accelerates Implementations and
Supports Industry-Specific Solutions
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 18, 2006) – Camstar, the leading provider
of enterprise manufacturing execution and quality systems for medical device and
diagnostics, high technology electronics, semiconductor test, assembly and packaging,
and other global manufacturers, today announced the release of InSite 4.1, which
expands upon the highly configurable and extendable manufacturing execution system
(MES).
The new features – which enhance manufacturing control and further Camstar’s rapid
implementation methodology – include expanded 100% thin client factory modeling
and shop floor transaction forms that can be configured to meet specific needs of
each user, detailed operator procedures, advanced logic for non-conforming and reworked
material, plus additional flexibility for integrating the InSite MES with enterprise
resource planning (ERP) and product lifecycle management (PLM) applications.
“Camstar’s applications are successful because users can configure their business
rules without coding, reducing the implementation time and overall cost of ownership,”
said Scott Jones, Vice President of Development at Camstar. “For InSite 4.1, we
furthered this tradition with new features that allow companies to even more easily
adapt the application to their businesses, rather than the other way around.”
InSite is deployed world-wide in complex manufacturing environments, and is known
for its comprehensive and flexible work-in-process tracking and control, configurability,
internationalization features, scalable architecture, and high performance in the
most strenuous environments. It powers Camstar’s industry-specific solutions for
the Medical Device and Diagnostics, Semiconductor and other high-tech industries.
