Press Releases
CAMPBELL, Calif. (August 19, 2004) - Camstar Systems, Inc., a
leading provider of enterprise manufacturing execution and quality management systems, today
announced the newest release of its industry-leading InSite™ manufacturing execution
system (MES). The new release includes many new features that enhance functionality,
and reduce the time and cost of deployment.
InSite's v3.4 Web Forms Builder simplifies the creation of customized user
interfaces for collecting and managing complex manufacturing data. It simplifies
the creation of InSite user interfaces through the use of Web services and Microsoft's
(NASDAQ: MSFT) VisualStudio.NET™ integrated development environment. The Web Forms
Builder provides designers with direct access to InSite Web Services, predefined
templates, intelligent web controls, and a complete field directory that allows
"drag-and-drop" functioning elements directly onto forms.
"By leveraging Microsoft's .NET technologies, Camstar clearly has demonstrated that
it has the expertise to integrate quickly with existing enterprise applications,
and deliver the highly functional and reliable solutions demanded by today's enterprise
customers," said Don Richardson, Microsoft's director of manufacturing industry
solutions.
For the first time ever, users can build powerful business applications that require
only a browser to run. Kal Nawawi, Director of Manufacturing at Carl Zeiss Meditec,
appreciates the advantages. "We compete in a dynamic and fast-paced market," he
said. "For our electronic device history records, we needed an application that
we could deploy quickly without getting bogged down in the validation process.
Camstar's unique and flexible user interface configuration methodology allows us to bring
up new production lines quickly, and make changes without extensive re-validation."
The InSite v3.4 operational data store includes ready-to-use manufacturing summaries
that make analysis of key measurements even more accessible and efficient, meeting
the needs of both business and power users.
"We provide solutions that give our customers easy access to real-time manufacturing
data so they can make better business decisions," said Dave Cone, president
and CEO of Camstar.
"The latest version of our InSite product makes it even easier for
companies to achieve this goal because end-users can create their own customized
analysis reports and have access to the information they need, when they need it."
