Chief Executive Visits China to Support High Tech Manufacturers
Charlotte, NC — October 9, 2007 - Camstar Systems, Inc, a leading provider of Enterprise Manufacturing Execution and Quality Systems, today announced that CEO and President, Scott Toney, visited Beijing and Shanghai to launch the release of its Electronics Suite™ in China. In two separate events, Mr. Toney delivered a multi-media presentation centering on the evolution of the high tech industry and Camstar’s history of helping global manufacturers to sustain growth, maximize agility, and produce the highest quality products with leaner, more efficient operations.
As China continues to grow as one of the world’s key manufacturing bases, so too, has Camstar’s commitment to this burgeoning manufacturing center. Mr. Toney reinforced that commitment and Camstar’s continuing contribution to the Chinese manufacturing sector during his recent visit. In Beijing, Mr. Toney met with Professor Dinghuan Shi, Counselor of the State Council and President of the China Society for Renewable Energy. The two discussed developments in China’s Solar Industry and how Camstar could help local Solar Cell Manufacturers to increase productivity.
Speaking later at a press conference with over 40 major national and local media representatives, Mr. Toney gave an update on Camstar’s worldwide operations, focusing on recent sustained growth in China. In addition, he announced the release of Camstar’s Electronics Suite™. In Shanghai, Mr. Toney conducted a one on one interview session with Biz-China, a key business program on CCTV-9 (China Central Television).
In today’s global economy, high tech manufacturing has flourished in Asia, especially in China. Challenged by rapid business and technology changes, shorter product life cycles, and increased product design complexities, high tech electronics manufacturers must maintain the highest flexibility in responding to unexpected events. Visibility and control are also critical. Since its entry into the China market in 2002, Camstar has achieved outstanding results and has successfully helped many manufacturers in Asia adapt quickly to change in demand and configurations, accelerate time to market, handle high transaction volumes and ensure consistent product quality across all plants.
Hitachi, one of world’s leading electronics companies, has recently implemented Camstar’s Electronics Suite at their plant near Suzhou, China. The Suzhou plant manufactures Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps (CCFL) and successfully completed the implementation in just 60 days. Besides Hitachi, customers like Hutchinson Technology, Phillips Semiconductors (NXP), Sandisk Semiconductor, Amkor and AMD, are already reaping the benefits of Camstar’s solutions. In addition, another global electronics customer in China collects the largest known total volume of data at the highest transaction rates in one of the world’s largest manufacturing facilities. As a result of increased speed and agility, the manufacturer achieved optimized yields, shorter production cycle times and dramatically increased volume of products shipped, with a low cost of system ownership.
“As a leading worldwide provider of Manufacturing Execution and Quality System solutions, Camstar is devoted to helping global manufacturers improve their processes while increasing efficiency,” said Scott Toney, President and CEO of Camstar Systems. “China has become a core production base of the world and manufacturers in China will benefit by deploying high quality MES solutions to optimize their production and enhance their operations. Camstar is very committed to the China market and we believe our advanced solutions will help China’s electronics manufacturers achieve their goals.”
